Holter (24-hour ECG)

One possible diagnostic test for cardiac examination is a 24-hour ECG measurement, the Holter test. The reporting of the Holter device is identical to that of an ECG device used in the examination.

The Holter records electrical signals from the heart. A disposable self-adhesive electrode is attached to the appropriate places on the patient’s chest to which the leads are attached. The device should be worn in a portable case that can be hung around your neck or waist belt, and it should not be removed or exposed to water for 24 hours.

The usual daily routine does not need to be changed during the Holter examination, and in fact, if there is a situation that triggers a complaint that you are already familiar with, it is worth recording it. A diary should also be kept for the 24 hours of the examination, in which you should record all the activities you performed during the day so that the reasons for the changes can be easily identified during the evaluation.

With what complaints is it wort visiting a cardiology clinic?
