The History of Medicover Hungary
Medicover first started operations in Hungary in 1998 and was the first to introduce a card-based flat rate health care service, later followed by health insurance. It thus provides a wide spectrum of health care services that serve as a model for organizing modern health care.

Medicover won the Business Superbrands Award for the 10th time.

In January of 2020, the latest Medicover Clininc opened in Miskolc.

Medicover won the Superbrands Award for the 12th time, and won the Business Superbrands Award for the 9th time.

Medicover won the „Best of Budapest & Hungary” Award for the 7th time.

Medicover won the Superbrands Award for the 11th time.

In February the Eiffel Clinic was renewed. The waiting rooms were enlarged and new dental treatment rooms were established. The clinic now has more than 30 consulting rooms and a spacious, nearly 3000 sqm area waiting for those who wish to heal.

The Pegasus Díj recognizes the performance of the most dynamic Hungarian small and medium-sized companies, Medicover get III. place in the “Market leader” category.

Medicover won the Superbrands Award for the 10th time.

In the spring of 2016, the Medicover Hospital opened. The clinic provides out-patient care in 25 specialties in addition to in-patient care.

In the spring of 2016, the Medicover Advanced Diagnostic Center opened. The center has the latest high-end MRI and CT devices.

The area of the Eiffel Clinic has doubled, and the waiting areas have a new, modern and professional look.

Two new clinics and city join the Medicover network (Paks and Székesfehérvár).

Medicover has won the Superbrands and Business Superbrands prizes for seven consecutive years (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015).

The first clinics are opening in the countryside in Győr, Debrecen and Pécs.

In January, the Medicover Alkotás Point Clinic (by merging with the Szépvölgyi Clinic and Infopark Clinic) opened. The clinic is well- and centrally located in Buda, with 1000 m² area and 25 specialties.
2012
Medicover Eiffel Clinic has opened in the heart of Budapest, at Nyugati square. The specialty clinics of the West End Clinic moves to the new clinic, establishing Hungary’s biggest outpatient clinic with 30 specialties.
2010
Medicover was awarded Best of Budapest price for 5 consecutive years: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.
2009
Our electronic finding manager system received InnoMax special award on Haszon Magazine’s competition on innovative thinking. The system allows to register and search easily in patient’s medical history by using a simple interface.
2008
Medicover was awarded Superbrands price again, and this year, for the first time, the Business Superbrands price as well.
2007
Szépvölgyi Health Center opened in Buda, near Kolosy square.

Medicover won the prestigious Superbrands price for the first time.

Medicover’s homepage won 1st prize in the healthcare category of the most prestigious online marketing-communication competition, the “Év honlapja“.

The Medicover Occupation Healthcare Center opens at Infopark.
