Infectious serology tests

Comprehensive coronavirus (CoViD-19) tests!

The comprehensive coronavirus (CoVid-19) tests are available at Medicover: PCR test, high-sensitivity antibody test (IgM + IgG), IgG antibody test and complex test (PCR + high-sensitivity antibody test)!

The tests are suitable for detecting and monitoring new infections, contact research, and monitoring immune response, healing, and protection.

The PCR test available at Medicover is performed in a microbiology laboratory that meets the criteria issued by the National Public Health Center.

In case of asymptomatic persons under official surveillance or quarantine in their home, the results of a PCR test performed at our clinics in Budapest and the country – in case of two negative tests performed at least 48 hours apart within five days – are suitable for epidemiological surveillance or quarantine exemption decision (the application must be sent to the epidemiological authority responsible for issuing the decision ordering the epidemiological surveillance/quarantine).

In case of quarantine, the possibility of testing must be requested from the epidemiological authority competent to issue the decision ordering the quarantine, this is not necessary in the case of official surveillance. It is important that in the case of epidemiological surveillance, the first test may be performed from the fourth day after contact with CoVid-19 infected person or asymptomatic carrier.

Symptomatic CoViD-19 positive patients should not leave the quarantine facility ordered by the authority.

Why is laboratory testing important?

Laboratory tests can help identify or, where appropriate, rule out the underlying diseases.

However, it is important to highlight that the result of a laboratory test does not in itself constitute a diagnosis, only the results are included in the finding. You will receive the diagnosis, therapy or treatment recommendation from your specialist or treating physician who ordered the laboratory tests.

Contact your doctor with all laboratory test results.

Infectious serology tests

By detecting antibodies against various pathogens, we look for the background of acute and chronic infections. With their help we can detect susceptibility, the course of the infection and protection. Serostatus tests before and during pregnancy are of particular importance. (TORCH: Toxoplasma, Rubeola, Cytomegalia, Herpes simplex and Varicella).
