Thyroid ultrasound examination

Ultrasound is an essential tool for the examination of the two lobes of the thyroid and the parathyroid. With the help of ultrasound, small changes in the thyroid gland can also be observed, we can also accurately determine the size, shape and structure of the thyroid, but nodular lesions, inflammations and cysts can also be seen. Ultrasound also plays an important role in the diagnostics of the thyroid and parathyroid, as well as in the examination of the soft tissues of the neck, the large salivary glands and cervical lymph nodes.

Thyroid ultrasound examination is recommended in all cases where there is a possibility of abnormal thyroid abnormalities based on a palpation examination (endocrinologist or internist examination) or other symptoms.
